Meet the Team

Practitioners

Our staff are selected for their enthusiasm, professionalism and most importantly their dedication towards the children in their care. All nursery practitioners are qualified within the field of childcare.

We are fortunate that our Manager has a BA (Hons) degree within the field of Early Years Education and all the staff are committed to developing their skills, attending courses to continue their professional development in this ever changing profession. This ensures that we are able to create an interesting stimulating environment reflecting our knowledge and understanding of the children’s needs.

Staff are required to go through a rigorous interview process and before they are employed they must have a current DBS clearance and two satisfactory references have been received. All staff are required to hold a recent Paediatric First Aid qualification and current knowledge and awareness of the Safeguarding of Children in their care.

We have staff that take specific responsibility for the areas of Safeguarding, Health and Safety and have a Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

Practitioner to child ratio throughout the day

At a session of 3 hours we are able to take 28 children. We are pleased to be able to offer a very good ratio of at least 1 practitioner to every 6 children and in most instances there are 5 practitioners caring for the children during a session. This is above the government’s minimum requirement of 1 practitioner to every 8 children but is adjusted according to the age of the children attending.
